| Milwaukee County residents can request items
from any library within the system. The easiest way to request items
is to first login using your barcode and PIN combination from the
Home page. From your account page, click Search
Catalog and locate the items you wish to request. Request
a Single Item
Any item within the library catalog can be requested whenever you
see the Request (this) Item button displayed from
either the record browse or full record display screens. If you
are logged in, you will simply need to designate a pickup location
and click Submit. The system will confirm your
request has been successful and you can return to the record by
selecting Regular Display or enter a new search
by clicking on Start Over.
Requesting Multiple Items
To request multiple items, search the catalog and mark your items
you wish to save using the "Mark" checkbox to the left
of each title and click on Save Selected Items.
You can also choose to mark all items displayed on the page by clicking
on the Save All Items button. Any of these actions
will cause two buttons to appear above: View My Cart
and Empty My Cart.
Please note that the items within your CountyCat cart will be
emptied as soon as you close your browser or after thirty minutes
of inactivity.

- View My Cart. This button will allow you to
view your marked records to either request them or choose a method
to output them from the system (email, print or save).
- Empty My Cart. This button will clear your
marked records. Marked records are only saved for the duration
of your browser session.
The next step is to verify the titles you want to request. Click
on View My Cart and then Multiple Requests
to display these titles:

If you are logged in to your account all ready, you can select
a pickup location and review your records. Select those you want
by marking them with a checkbox and click on Request Selected.
In addition you can choose all your records by clicking the Request
All button.

The system will batch request your records one by one and let you
know if the request is successful or not in the right hand column.
If you have a problem with your holds or do not believe the process
was successful, please contact your local
library.
